Atelier Sandro Barros launches new collection Persepolis
Farah Diba, Iran's xabanu for nearly 20 years and a fashion icon in the 1960s and 1970s, is Sandro Barros's great inspiration for his spring 2019 collection.
In the Blue Label line, flowers appear in profusion, honoring the Persian tradition that goes back over 2,000 years of distributing them on special dates. “I applied red roses, which are one of Iran's national symbols, on the necklines of the dresses, on the sleeves or rounding off the center of the caftans,” says Sandro. Other flagships are tailor-made crepe models and pajamas with a collar, cuffs and hem embroidered with crystals and feathers. “The silhouettes are a collection of my best sellers, like the one-shoulder dress, the muslin-capped dresses and the tunics, which have been coated with the colors and nature of Iran's most diverse landscapes,” adds the designer.
